ASK YOURSELF

How much is repeat business worth to you?

It’s good to be busy, right? Busy pays the bills.

But what about when it gets so loud that it’s hard to chat?

Well, that’s when some of your regulars can become a bit less regular.

A bit more picky about when they come in, or whether they come in, or whether they stay to order more.

And then you're not as busy as you should be.

This problem has gotten more expensive every year.

IT’S TERRIFYING

How Old People Ate the Economy

(and now they’re going deaf)

In 2018, the consumer economy tipped over. That was when over-40s became the majority of consumer spending.

Why?

Well, Aussies are living longer. So there's more oldies around.

More than that though, the boomers are on a spending binge. Aussies over 65 grew their spending by 27.5 per cent (inflation-adjusted) between 2003-04 and 2021-22.

Meanwhile, the under-35s have actually spending less now. They’ve been squeezed by stagnant wages, rising rents, mortgage payments, bills and groceries.

They’re in a completely different universe to the couple nextdoor who took out a 200k mortgage 25 years ago.

Their kids have moved out and their super is looking good too. They’re keen to enjoy the time they’ve got left. They can afford it too.

So your own finances depend much more now on offering a good experience to this older crowd – who, let’s face it, probably had sharper hearing back in the 1990s.

But a loud room can annoy a lot of young folks too.

If you’re hungover, recovering from a cold, or are just sensitive to noise. Or when you get all dressed up for a good friend’s birthday and then barely get to talk to them.

Or when you get all dressed up for a good friend’s birthday and then barely get to talk to them.

AND HERE'S THE THING

It’s your walls that make most of that noise

Seriously.

All the talking, kitchen and bar noise, music, it all bounces off the walls again and again and again at the speed of sound.

In an untreated room, it adds up to be more than twice as loud as the original sound.

And so everyone raises their voice to be heard. Which makes the echo louder too.

FACT

Your Customers Are Mostly There When It’s Noisy

Your busiest times make the biggest impression on your customers. They tend not to be around when it’s quiet.

So let’s say there’s a suburban venue that serves 20 customers on Tuesday, 15 on Wednesday, 40 on Thursday...

...Friday? BAM! 160.

If that’s your venue, you might feel like it’s actually too quiet most of the time. That’s how you experienced it.

But two thirds of these punters got the busy bit.

So it’s especially important what sort of experience you offer at those times.

This is a problem, but also an opportunity. If you can sort your acoustics out before your competitors do, you can be a place where people know they can hear each other no matter what time they go.

OKAY

So How Expensive Are Loud Walls Really?

Well start with your margins. Then multiply it by how many visits you miss out on. Ba da bing, ba da boom. That’s your number.

But how many is that? It’s hard to say, because most people won’t tell you. Maybe it’s 5%, 15%, 30% or more who care enough to change their behaviour.

So let’s just be cautious and go with 5%. And most of those people are coming back, just a little bit less often. So we’re only talking about 1 or 2% of your revenue, right?

If your annual revenue is $300,000 a year, that’s still thousands of dollars in lost revenues and margins.

That’s Thousands of Dollars Every Year You Lose to a Problem That Might Cost Hundreds to Fix

It just comes down to hanging a few decent acoustic panels up to soak up the echo.

And I can make you some really good ones for a few hundred bucks each, depending on the size. Using a proper thickness of acoustic insulation.

We’re not talking those dodgy ten dollar foam tiles from AliExpress, but something big enough and substantial enough to actually work.

In a small space, you only need two or three.

In a larger space? You’ll need more panels, but then your noise is costing you more too.

AND JUST THINK

What it would do for you and your staff too

So loud rooms drive away customers, but what about the folks who work there?

A noisy workplace tires you faster, stresses you out and makes it harder to focus on tasks.

If you can bring down the echo, everyone can speak easier and do a better job. You’ll feel less fried at the end of a shift, because you didn’t have your ears bashed.

That helps you hold on to good workers. It improves your own day too.

But how will it look on the wall?

That’s the grouse bit. However you like.

We can make them whatever size suits your space, and cover them with pretty much any fabric or tapestry you choose.

Custom printing? No problem.

They can feature your logo, your branding or your marketing messages.

Or really anything that suits your vibe. If you're selling a national or regional cuisine, we can make it about that part of the world.

If you’re a rock and roll bar, some cool bands and albums. If you’re a bit bohemian, some funky and offbeat art.

Or just whatever fabric is in harmony with your room.

I Know You’ve Probably Got a Billion Other Things to Do

Nothing about this has to interrupt what you're doing.

Just send me a message in the contact form, telling me about your venue.

If you decide to go ahed with an order, just send a deposit and I'll start building them. Then pay the rest when they're done.

Easy peasy.

REAL TALK

Be Kinder to Your Customers, Your Staff, Yourself and Your Bottom Line

It’s about being more busy, more often, because you're delivering a better experience.

It’s about offering a space for good music and conversation, where friends can laugh and chat, where nobody misses their order because they couldn’t hear their number.

And you’ll end you day better too.

It’s extremely affordable and you barely have to lift a finger. We’ll make them look amazing on your walls.

You only pay for them once, and they’ll work for you, non-stop, for years to come.

Any questions? Just whack em in the contact form and I'll be with you in a jiffy :)

P.S.

Can You Help Me With My Instagram?

Okay, so I’m still figuring out this marketing shebang.

But I think what I really need right now is a few case studies, some more photos of my panels looking snazzy in some cool venues.

So if anyone out there is willing, I can show my gratitude by offering a huge discount.

There are only three conditions to qualify:

  • Your venue has to genuinely look pretty grouse already, and have a distinctive vibe, which the panels can enhance
  • You have to already be getting a bit of a crowd in (which is why you have the noise)
  • You have to be ready to order within the next few weeks

In return, I can offer:

  • 30% off my regular prices
  • Free Delivery
  • I’ll do everything I can to make them look as grouse as possible
  • I’ll even help you hang them up

Look, this sort of discount is painful. So I'm only going to offer it to a few customers, to jazz up my Insta and my website. Then the offer is over.

So be quick and get in touch. Send me a message using the form below.
